Breakfast and Tea apple pies.

Easy recipe for 6 delicious little apple pies, to be eaten at breakfast or to offer  with cup of tea in the afternoon; they are different from the usual desserts, are nutrient, with a little sugar, lot of fruit  and eggs free. They are also ideal for children’s snacks with a glass of juice healthy fruit.
For  the pastry:

  • 100 grams plain flour,
  • 50 grams of potato starch,
  • 50 grams of vegetable oil,
  • 50 grams of custer sugar,
  • 1 pinch of salt,
  • 1 tsp of baking powder,
  • 1 grated lemon peel,
  • 1 pinch of vanilla essence (powder or liquid),
  • 5/6 tbsp of lukewarm water,
  • 6 little molds

For the filling:

  • 250/300  grams of apples,  cut in  small pieces,
  • 1 tbsp of brown sugar,
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice.

For the decoration (optional):

  • 1 tbsp of brown sugar,
  • 1 tbsp milk,
  • some scraps of dough  flower-shaped.

Sift in a bowl, flour and potato starch together with salt and baking powder; add sugar, grated  lemon peel and stir together well.

 

 

 

 

Pour the oil and vanilla essence in the center and mix all with the addition of a few tablespoons of lukewarm water that  will act as binder  and working the dough becomes smooth.

 

 

 

 

At last, give  it the form of a ball, cover with plastic wrap and let stand for 30 minutes at least.
Meanwhile, chop the apples  in  small pieces, sprinkle them with 1 tbsp of brown sugar, a few drops of lemon  juice and put them apart.

 

 

 

 

When the time is over, roll out the pastry in 1-1,5 cm  thick and line the molds of shape you have chosen;

 

 

 

 

filled them with apples,  cover with thin shortbread and pressing  for close them very well;

 

 

 

 

at last, if you want,  cut  flowers or other shapes in remaining roll out of dough, wet the surface of cakes  with milk,  place cutted flowers and   sprinkle with a pinch of brown sugar.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Bake in the center of the preheated oven at 180 ° / 190 ° for 20 minutes or more (size of the moulds depending).

 

 

 

 

After the time, leave to cool for 5 minutes and turning out the apple pies  from the moulds. Yum!
